January 19, 2021

JACKSONVILLE – An annual Parent Night is slated for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Jacksonville Middle School Cafeteria for parents of incoming seventh grade students.

"Our goal is to intorduce new students and parents to Jacksovnille Middle School's academic courses, extracurricular activities and staff," said Principal Patsy Whitaker. "These events are designed to provide information, answer questions, ensure a smooth transition to middle school and get students excited about their future at JMS."

Along with a brief overview of middle school activities, information will be shared about electronic scheduling to be held in the spring, giving families an opportunity to peruse information about Pre-AP classes and available electives, then students will have an opportunity to visit some of those elective choices as teachers are on-hand to answer questions.

Whitaker noted that because of limited seating, the student is asked to be accompanied by one parent, if possible.

Facemasks are required for the event, in keeping with the JISD COVID policy.
