Holiday hours

CHEROKEE COUNTY – Local and state government offices will be closed for the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays, as are the U.S. Postal Service and banking institutions across the country.

In Cherokee County, city offices in Jacksonville, Alto, Bullard, New Summerfield, Reklaw, Rusk and Troup – along with the county courthouse and county offices – are closed Dec. 24-25 for Christmas, and Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

The City of Wells will close offices at noon, Wednesday, Dec. 23 and Dec. 30, and be closed Dec 24-25 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1.

Federal institutions, such as post offices, are closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 for the holidays, as are banks and other financial institutions.

The Cherokeean Herald staff will be working reduced hours during the holiday season, with our Dec. 23 and Dec. 30 editions published as usual.
