Barbara Ford

A graveside service for Barbara Ford, 88, of Rusk, will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Mabry and Bro. Don Copeland officiating.

Mrs. Ford passed away surrounded by family on November 23. She was born February 10, 1932 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late William and Lollie Smith. She worked as a food service supervisor at Rusk State Hospital until retirement.

She was a member of Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church for 71 years, having been a lifelong Baptist. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was the embodiment of the Proverbs 31 woman.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank Ford, great-grandson Caden Ford, and all 11 of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Barbara and Charles McCreight, Tommy and Kelly Ford, Laverne and Jerry Lusk, Larry and Becky Ford; grandchildren, Ronnie and Ashley McCreight, Jennifer Ford, Christopher and Cori Ford, Joey and Amanda Lusk, Amber and Dustin Hood, Stephen and Carolyn Ford, David and Sarah Ford, Frank and Grace Ford, Courtny and Shawn Powers; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, and grand-daughter in love, Myra Ball.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 27, at the funeral home. The family is requesting all visitors wear a mask.

Grandsons will serve as her pallbearers.
