Go Bus service resumes Nov. 16

by Staff reports

Go Bus, the rural transportation system operated by the East Texas Council of Governments, will resume full service on Nov. 16.

The agency began restricting trips to essential rides only through their service area of 14 East Texas counties in March, in response to a national COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a release, “throughout the month of October, all service areas have made a slow transition with increased ridership.”

Officials said the agency will continue to monitor the pandemic, following CDC guidelines while providing transportation to East Texas residents: Drivers will continue to wear personal protective equipment (masks and gloves) and the agency has purchased a fogging machine to help aid disinfecting efforts as they clean vehicles between passenger changes.

Go Bus operates five days a week, making 500-700 trips a day.
