NOV. 4

The Alto Food Pantry will host a produce distribution day, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the Chaparral Center, 176 W. San Antonio in Alto.

NOV. 6

The Caddo Creek Band will perform Friday, Nov. 6, at the Rusk Civic Center, 555 Euclid St., as the town’s First Friday dances resume. Music begins at 7 p.m., and lasts until 10 p.m. Cost is $5 per person.

NOV. 7

The Children's Christmas Tree, which provides gifts for children in need at Christmastime, will be taking applications from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the H.O.P.E. Center, 595 S. Ragsdale St. in Jacksonville.

NOV. 7-8

Brook Hill School presents “The Perfect Ending,” a comedy by B. Dwayne Craft and directed by Glenn Ballard, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7-8, in the Brook Hill Commons. The 22nd annual dinner theater begins nightly with a 6:15 p.m. meal, with curtain at 7:30 p.m.; seating is limited. Tickets are $15 each, with only 5 seated per table. Join the Rusk Chamber of Commerce for a Business Associates Social Hour (BASH), where attendees can network, sip, snack and have fun. This month's event will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Heritage Center of Cherokee County Museum, 208 S. Henderson St. in Rusk.

NOV. 11

A CampV Veterans Day celebration will be held at the American Freedom Museum in Bullard, from 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the 1051 N. Houston St. museum.

NOV. 14

The Jacksonville Garden Club will dedicate a flagpole at Buckner Park, during a 10 a.m. ceremony, Saturday, Nov. 14. The park is located on Newbern Street in Jacksonville.

Elijah's Retreat will host its second annual Fall Festival, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at 257 County Road 3110 in Jacksonville. The free event features food, entertainment, vendors and drawings for a 52-inch zero-turn mower, four tickets to a Texas A&M football game (includes parking) and jewelry by Kendra Scott and Vera Bradley.

NOV. 13

Tickets for the 2020 season of THE POLAR EXPRESS at Texas State Railroad go on sale at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at www.texasstaterailroad.net. NOV. 16

"Holiday in the Country," an annual holiday event in downtown Troup, is slated for Monday, Nov. 16, with local merchants open from 5 to 9 p.m., welcoming visitors with treats and store sales! Santa is expected to make an appearance during the evening, too!

The Brook Hill School will host a "Lower School Look & See" for students in grades Pre-K through 5, 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at the Bullard campus. A catered meal will be provided as families discover more about the Christian private school's program.

NOV. 17

The Alto Food Pantry will host its monthly food distribution day, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Chaparral Center, 176 W. San Antonio in Alto.

Rusk Public Library will host its fifth annual Thanksgiving community lunch, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17. The free meal will be served in the Library Meeting Room.

This year's Mingle & Jingle, in downtown Jacksonville, will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17, with Santa Claus making an appearance from 4 to 7 p.m. at Raven Jute. To learn more, contact Stacy Boyer, 903-586-2527.

NOV. 28

Santa House opens from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Rusk Public Library, with cookies served. Guests are invited to take photos with Santa, who will appear at the library each Saturday through Dec. 19.

A tree-lighting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, in downtown Rusk, kicking off holiday festivities in town. DEC. 1

Rusk Public Library will host an open house, from 11:30 am. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1. Visitors are invited to join the staff for lunch.

Rusk's annual Christmas parade begins 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1. downtown.

DEC. 5

A golf tournament at Birmingham Golf Course, a Christmas Tree Stroll at the Rusk Civic Center and a holiday murder mystery at The Daily Grind are all on tap Saturday, Dec. 5. Contact the Rusk Chamber of Commerce, [email protected], to learn more.

DEC. 7

Cherokee County Republican Women – Texas will host their Christmas dinner and meeting, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at The Legacy, 782 County Road 1511 in Jacksonville. Guest speaker is Texas Railroad Commissioner Wayne Christian. The meal is free for CCRW members and associate members; dinner for guests is $20 each. Please RSVP by Nov. 23.

DEC. 11-13
