THROUGH OCT. 31

This year's annual Scarecrow Trail will be held daily, Monday through Friday, Oct. 24-31, at the Ruth B. Nichols Arboretum, 1015 SE Loop 456 in Jacksonville. Admission is $1 or 1 canned good item, which will benefit The H.O.P.E. Center.

OCT. 28

Tricks-N-Treats will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in downtown Alto along Commerce street, while a "Vampires Need Your Blood" donation drive hosted by Gulfcoast/Blood Center f East Texas will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Free antibody testing is available.

Sisters@Heart will host a Halloween celebration, from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church in Alto. The group will be distributing pre-packaged candy in individual bags, and observing social distancing and other suggested pandemic precautions. The group also has an option for drive-through Trick or Treaters.

OCT. 29

Rusk's new Cline Family Medical Center will host a groundbreaking ceremony, 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at 1400 Dickenson Dr. Clinic members also will host a walk-in flu shot clinic from 10 a.m. to 1 noon; cost is $25 per person, if not filing on insurance. OCT. 31

Calvary Baptist Church of Jacksonville will host a Trunk or Treat event, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at 122 W. Tena St.

Celebrate Halloween with the Wells Police Department who will be handing out hot dogs/chili dogs, chips, drinks and candy to trick-or-treaters and their parents, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.

A Trunk or Treat is planned at 140 E. Main. St. in Reklaw, Saturday, Oct. 31, and features food vendors, free hotdogs for kids, games, a fire truck and live music. Visitors can also shop at The Shack on Main. The event begins at 4:30 p.m. and goes until 7:30 p.m.

Central Baptist Church of Jacksonville will host Trunk or Treat, 6 to 9 p.m. at 1909 E. Rusk St.

NOV. 6

The Caddo Creek Band will perform Friday, Nov. 6, at the Rusk Civic Center, 555 Euclid St., as the town’s First Friday dances resume. Music begins at 7 p.m., and lasts until 10 p.m. Cost is $5 per person.

NOV. 7

Trail to Christ Cowboy Church will host its "At the Cross Classic" fall show, Saturday, Nov. 7. Check-in is from 6 to 8 a.m., followed by the 9 a.m. show at the Cherokee County Show Barn, 611 E. Loop 456 in Jacksonville. Cost is $25 per entry, with prizes award in the following categories: Steers and heifers, American-English-Exotic, market lambs and goats, market barrow and market gilts. The Children's Christmas Tree, which provides gifts for children in need at Christmastime, will be taking applications form 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the H.O.P.E. Center, 595 S. Ragsdale St. in Jacksonville.

NOV. 7-8

Brook Hill School presents “The Perfect Ending,” a comedy by B. Dwayne Craft and directed by Glenn Ballard, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7-8, in the Brook Hill Commons. The 22nd annual dinner theater begins nightly with a 6:15 p.m. meal, with curtain at 7:30 p.m.; seating is limited. Tickets are $15 each, with only 5 seated per table. NOV. 14

Elijah's Retreat will host its second annual Fall Festival, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at 257 County Road 3110 in Jacksonville. The free event features food, entertainment, vendors and drawings for a 52-inch zero-turn mower, four tickets to a Texas A&M football game (includes parking) and jewelry by Kendra Scott and Vera Bradley.

NOV. 17

Rusk Public Library will host its fifth annual Thanksgiving community lunch, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17. The free meal will be served in the Library Meeting Room.

NOV. 28

Santa House opens from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Rusk Public Library, with cookies served. Guests are invited to take photos with Santa, who will appear at the library each Saturday through Dec. 19.

A tree-lighting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, in downtown Rusk, kicking off holiday festivities in town. DEC. 1

Rusk Public Library will host an open house, from 11:30 am. To 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1. Visitors are invited to join the staff for lunch.

Rusk's annual Christmas parade begins 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1. downtown.

DEC. 5
