Quilt works of Gene Tomlin on display in Rusk

Quilts created by the late Gene Tomlin, a former pastor who served several Cherokee County churches, will be on display for the next two weekends at the Heritage Center of Cherokee County Museum, 208 S. Henderson St. in Rusk.

The late Tomlin is a 1944 graduate of Rusk High School and an artist, and visitors can see his quilted works from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10 and 17, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11 and 18.

Marcontell asks that anyone with a painting or a quilt created by Tomlin, who would like to include in the display, to please call her at 903-714-8685; the display can be seen by appointment by contacting her at that number.
