Alto – Funeral services for Billy Dean Burrows, 86, of Alto will be Saturday, October 4, at 3 p.m., in the Campground Baptist Church near Alto with Rev. Jim Goforth officiating. Burial will follow at the Lynches Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Burrows passed away Wednesday, September 30, in Jacksonville. He was born in Cherokee County, Texas July 29, 1934 to George E. and Bonnie Watts Burrows. Billy lived all his life in the Jones Chapel Community near Alto and was a member of the Campground Baptist Church. He had worked for many years in road construction and later worked as a truck driver for 25 years as owner-operator of Billy D. Burrows Trucking Company, before retiring. He enjoyed hunting and loved trucking. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Becky Burrows, brother George Burrows and sister Dimple Jean Taylor. He is survived by daughters Shelia Curry (Ash Andersen) of Huntsville, Elizabeth Blankinship (David) of Alto, Rachael Westbrook (Justin) of Alto and Monica Jordan of Austin, son Rick Burrows Culver of Springdale, Arkansas, brothers Bobby Burrows of Goliad, Jackie Burrows (Linda) of Edna and Jerry Burrows (Julie) of Highland, numerous grandchildren including Zach Curry, Aaron Curry, Hunter Bush, Holden Bush, Lucy Blankinship, Beckett Westbrook, Kelsey Blankinship, Kolby Blankinship, Kade Blankinship, Brayden Westbrook and Braylee Westbrook as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is Friday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home in Alto.
