Bobby Nolley
A graveside service for Bobby Nolley, age 80, of Rusk is scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020, at Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie Hogan officiating. There will be no visitation.
Mr. Nolley passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2020. He was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Jacksonville, Texas, to the late Claiborn and Monte Halbert Nolley. Mr. Nolley was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County and a member of Oakland Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from TDCJ and Rusk State Hospital after 40 years, served as a medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and he loved hunting, fishing and sports.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Nolley; one sister and one brother.
Survivors include grandchildren, Jason Lanier of Rusk; David McMurtrey of Rusk; Amber Haynes and husband Jason of Rusk; Brandon and Candus Dement of Wells, Texas; Chase and Becca Chaffin of Porter, Texas; Brance Moore of Huxley, Texas; Brenna Moore of Lufkin, Texas; daughters and son-in-law, Tracey Warren of Jacksonville and Debbie and Harold Dement of Rusk; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Regina Moore of Huxley; and numerous great grandchildren.
