Reward offered for info in water department break-in

Cherokee County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for any information that leads to an arrest and the recovery of items recently stolen from Rusk Rural Water Supply Corporation.

Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for information in this matter. Callers can remain anonymous.

According to police reports, on Sunday, Aug. 16, the water supply corporation’s location in Rusk was broken into and several items were stolen, including a backhoe and zero turn mower.

Rusk Police Department continues to investigate the incident. Rusk Rural WSC Manager Mike Hamilton declined to comment on the situation on Tuesday.

Rusk Rural Water Supply Corporation services approximately 1,180 customers in Cherokee County.
