A celebration of life for Mrs. Rubie ‘MeMe’ Inez Sparks, 73, of Jacksonville, was held Friday, Aug. 7, at Union Hill Cemetery in Jacksonville under the direction of Williams Funeral Home-Jacksonville. The Rev. Briant Brown gave the eulogy.

Rubie Inez Fuller was born June 7, 1947, to the late Rosie M. Stafford and John Fuller in Lone Star, Texas. On Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020, this beautiful life came to an end.

At an early age, she grew up in the Pine Hill community. At the age of 9, she moved to Los Angeles, Calif., and continued her education. In 1977, the family moved back to Pine Hill. She was a member of the Pine Hill Church of God in Christ. She later joined West Union Faith Ministry, where she served faithfully.

She loved to cook and spend time with her family. She met and married L.C. Sparks and to this union a loving son was born – Karl Allen Sparks.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Rosie M. Johnson and father, John Fuller.

She is survived by her loving son, Karl Allen (Chiquita) Sparks; sisters, Mona (Nathaniel) Holmes and Tanya (Delanger Ray) Foreman; brother, Johnnie (Kristie) Fuller; grandchildren, Karlonda Inez Sparks, Karl Allen Sparks, Jr., Kendara (Andrea) Hall, Jamal Bowens and Khiana Starling; nieces and nephews, Kammy (Carlos), Tony (Crystal), Courtney (Shamond) and Delanger Ray, Jr. (Amber); great-nieces, Amber (David), Sammie, Kelli and Aubree; goddaughter, Kimberlian Dawn Porter; and 12 great-grandchildren.
