Brookshire Bros.-Rusk launches delivery, curbside pickup services
(July 29, 2020) LUFKIN – Touchless grocery shopping has come to Brookshire Brothers in Rusk.
The Lufkin-based grocer launched its curbside pickup and grocery delivery service Monday, July 27, at its Rusk store. Brookshire Brothers has been offering this service in seven locations since February 2018.
With the increased demand for online shopping, the employee-owned company decided to launch Brookshire Brothers Anywhere in 14 additional locations.
Brookshire Brothers President and CEO John Alston said, “We strive to continually provide services our customers want and expect.
“COVID-19 showed us all the importance of touchless retail. People who’d previously been slow adopters of online ordering and curbside pickup, became the most frequent users of Brookshire Brothers Anywhere in the communities where we offer it.”
Some of the friendly faces that currently serve customers at the North Main Street location will now be personal shopping experts. Once a customer submits their online order, the store’s ‘pickers’ will personally do the grocery shopping, selecting the best of the best for their customers, just like they were doing their own grocery shopping.
The platform also enables customers to interact with their personal shoppers. Customers can make note of how green they want their bananas or how thick they like their steaks.
It becomes a two-way conversation.
To start shopping go to brookshirebrothers.com/anywhere. Curbside service is free at this time, and if you use the code FREEDELIVERY, you’ll get your first home delivery free.
