Dickson returns in county sheriff’s runoff election

Brent Dickson, is a lifelong resident of Cherokee County.

After graduating from Jacksonville High School in 2005, he attended Kilgore Fire Academy, Tyler Junior College EMT and the East Texas Police Academy.

Since January of 2012, Brent has been awarded the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Employee of the Year award, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Peace Officer of the Year award, and is a two time recipient of the city of Alto’s award for Going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty.

While being employed for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, he has held the positions of patrol deputy, patrol corporal, K-9 interdiction deputy, SWAT Team Leader and is currently a Narcotic Investigator in the county’s Criminal Investigation Division.

Brent has been involved in numerous state and federal cases while being employed for the sheriff’s office -- working with our local Cherokee County agencies and federal agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Marshall’s office.

Brent is honored to be married to his wife, Hallie (Moake) of Rusk.

They make their home in Jacksonville along with raising their son, Cole.

He is the son of William James (Jimmy) and Cathe Dickson, and a third generation family member employed as a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputy.
