Hello citizens of Cherokee County,

My name is Shonda McCutcheon Potter and I am running for the office of Cherokee County Tax Assessor-Collector in the Republican primary runoff.

I have been blessed to be working in the Rusk tax office for more than 25 years and I have been chief deputy since 1999. I completed my Professional County Collector certification in 2013.

I work side by side with the current tax assessor-collector and assume all her duties in her absence.

With more than 25 years of experience, I am trained and qualified to complete all duties and requirements of every position of the Cherokee County Tax Office during any employee’s absence including both vehicle substations.

My experience and qualifications have prepared me to be your best candidate for a seamless transition in becoming your new tax assessor-collector. I will continue to provide excellent customer service as I have for over 25 years.

I ask for your support and your vote in the upcoming primary runoff election and I will be honored to continue serving the residents of Cherokee County.

Early voting is June 29-July 10.

Election Day is Tuesday, July 14.

Thank you and God bless you,

Shonda McCutcheon Potter
