Savor the Fourth of July holiday with a salute to one of America’s “deepest” roots – railroading!

Get the chance to wave the Stars and Stripes, enjoy an all-American barbecue at the railroad depot and climb aboard and even ride a 100 year-old steam engine.

The Texas State Railroad is kicking off its summer season July 3-5, with the Celebration of Steam at the Official Railroad of Texas, with a display of TSRR’s notable steam and diesel engines, at the Palestine depot.

The property will open to guests at 8 a.m., July 3, 4 and 5, and the train will depart the Palestine depot at 11 a.m. Historic locomotives will be lined up on the wye, offering photo opportunities to capture and epitomize the summer opener.

The cafe and gift shop will be open for food, beverage and memorabilia purchases.
