Mary Ellen Logan

Graveside funeral services for Mary Ellen Logan, 87, of Alto were held Sunday, June 14, at the Alto City Cemetery, under the direction of O.T. Allen Funeral Home-Alto. The Rev. Paul Gates officiated. Mary passed away Friday, June 12, in Jacksonville, Texas. She was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Madisonville, Texas, to Fred Lawson and Laura King Lawson. Mary lived most of her life in Alto and was a longtime member of the Alto Assembly of God Church. She had worked for 30 years at Rogers Grocery and Alto Food Store and loved yard work and helping people in need. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Logan; daughter, Marilyn Logan; sister, Jo Moore; and brothers, Willard Lawson, Hubert Johnson and Dimmie Johnson. Mary is survived by son, Steve Logan of Alto; sister, Lois Henley of Cleveland; grandsons, Tony Goodman (Tina) and Jimmy Goodman; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
