City of Jacksonville facilities re-open

(May 28, 2020) -- The city of Jacksonville is re-opening city facilities with safe practices in place, with an aim to continue to provide the highest level of customer service.

The following is the list of city facility openings, and how these restrictions have changed normal operations moving forward.

Jacksonville City Hall Is open to the public, meetings are by appointment only.

Jacksonville Public Library is open to normal operations, with social distancing practices implemented based on health guidelines.

Jacksonville Municipal Court is open for payments and routine court activities. Trials and appearances in-front of Judges will re-commence in June, and those involved will be notified. For any questions, please contact the court at (903) 586-7111.

All utilities payments will continue to be contactless, with four options to do so: online -- visit the city 's website, www.jacksonvilletx.org/188/payments. Click the ‘Utilities Payments Suite’ link, from which you can make one-time payments or set-up recurring payments; drop-box -- the drive-through drop-box is located adjacent to Jacksonville City Hall (Rusk Street side) at 315 S. Ragsdale St. There is also a drop-box affixed to the front of the Public and Community Services building at 1220 S. Bolton St; telephone - to make a payment by telephone, or for questions about a utility bill please call (903) 589-3510; and bank draft -- to set up automated payments by bank draft, call (903) 589-3510.

Please call the Building Department, (903) 339-3299, to set up an appointment regarding inspections or permits.

Jacksonville Police and Fire Departments operations have continued to run as normal.

The Animal Shelter has resumed to normal operations.

The Vanishing Texana Museum will remain temporarily closed to the public.

All city parks have resumed to normal operations. The Nichols’ Green Park Splash Pad will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Buckner Park Pool will be open Tuesday, June 16 through Sunday, Aug. 16, Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays, 1-6 p.m. The maximum occupancy will be 20 swimmers at a time. Swimmers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The adult must identify with the lifeguards whether they will be swimming or not-swimming. The gates will be opened every hour on the hour to new swimmers who will be granted 45 minutes of swim time. The facility will be emptied, cleaned, and sanitized after each 45 minute period. Admission will be based on first come first serve basis with previous swimmers being asked to skip a session.

The Norman Activity Center will remain closed to reservations until further notice.

The Jacksonville (Stacy D. Hunter) Recreation Center will remain closed until further notice.

Love’s Lookout Visitor’s Center will re-open to the public and volunteers Monday, June 1.
