Graveside services for Lillian Powell Herrington, 92, of Chandler will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 23, 2020, in the Old Palestine Cemetery in Alto with the Rev. Brad Turlington officiating. There will be a visiting and viewing time starting at 1 p.m. at the cemetery. Mrs. Herrington died Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in Tyler. She was born March 24, 1928, in San Augustine County to William Henry Powell and Ellen Caroline Smith Powell. She had lived in Chireno for many years and lived in Chandler for the last 23 years. She was Baptist and a homemaker and a people person that loved quilting and fishing. Lillian was preceded in death by brother, Edward Powell; and sister, Evie Lee Church. She is survived by son, Marshall Lucas (Shirley) of Mt. Selman; daughter, Ellen Gipson (Dennis) of Chandler; grandchildren, Shawn Pierce, Kenny Pierce, Marshall Lucas Jr., Sasha Blue and Haylee Lucas; as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
