Additional businesses given green light to open

During a press conference on Tuesday, May 5, Gov. Abbott announced hair salons, barber shops and nail salons may re-open on May 8 as long as social distancing rules are followed.

Gyms may re-open on May 18, with strict rules that include gloves being worn and other social distancing restrictions.

Additional openings on May 18 include non-essential warehouse operations and office buildings, again with social distancing restrictions in place.
