Gwendolyn "Gwen" Patrick Stiefer

Gwendolyn "Gwen" Patrick Stiefer, 92, was born on May 12, 1927, in Rusk, Texas. She passed away on April 12, 2020, in Tyler, Texas. Her parents were Virge Shirley Patrick and Annie Sartain Patrick. Gwen grew up in the Rusk area. She graduated from Rusk High School in 1944. In 1948, Gwen moved to the Galveston County area, where she lived until 1977. Then she moved to Tyler, where she lived until her death.
She is survived by her son, Tom Craig and his wife, Janie, from Tyler, Texas; daughter, Lynn Craig Bay and her husband, David, from Harker Heights, Texas; grandson, Alex Bay, from Harker Heights, Texas; granddaughters, Amy Bay, from Round Rock, Texas and Shelby Craig, from Chicago, Ill.; and several cousins.
Honorary pallbearers were first cousins, Bill Sartain, Mike Sartain, Jim Sartain, Janie Sartain Woods and Bob Sartain.

Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk is in charge of the arrangements. Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, April 16, at Russell Cemetery.
