Wells ISD cancels classes Thursday and Friday
Wells ISD has announced that classes will be canceled on Thursday, Feb. 6 and Friday, Feb. 7 due to a sharp spike in absences related to respiratory and flu/flu-like illnesses. The school has reported double digit and a growing number of absences each day this week. Along with cancelling classes, and the extra cleaning already in place, Germblast is scheduled to do a very thorough treatment of the facilities.
In order to have a healthy school environment, Wells ISD asks parents seek appropriate medical treatment at the earliest signs of fever for any member of the family. Any sick person should stay home until they have been fever free for at least 24 hours. Go to www.wells.esc7.net for "Tips for a Healthy Wells" for more information.
Although classes are cancelled, some school activities will continue and parents/guardians are encouraged to reach out to the student's sponsor, coach or principal with any questions.
School will resume with normal hours on Monday, Feb. 10.
