Mary Earlene Chandler

A funeral service for Mary Earlene Chandler, 77, of Gallatin is scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Rusk with Bro. Robin Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Jarrett Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Chandler passed away Jan. 13, 2020, in Rusk. She was born Feb. 21, 1942, in Jacksonville to the late John D. McCarty and Georgia Mae Hattaway McCarty. She was a lifelong resident of Gallatin and attended the Gallatin Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Chandler was a nurse for 25 plus years at the Rusk State Hospital and TDCJ. She loved the Lord and everyone who knew her loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Chandler and grandson, Justin Walker. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Deborah Chandler of Gallatin; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Otis Modgling of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Kathy Chandler of Daytona, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Randall Chandler, Tanner Chandler, Ronnie Lewis, Tony Cline, William Blankinship and James Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Chandler, Michael Chandler and David Walley.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at the funeral home.
