Imogene Robinson

Imogene Robinson born January 2, 1927, to James and Elsie (Kirkwood) Kimbrell, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 in Rusk. She was 92 years old.

A funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Pastor Tommy Mabry will officiate. Imogene will be laid to rest at Salem Cemetery in Rusk.

Imogene Robinson, wife, mother, grandmother: Mom was a wonderful, caring and doting grandmother to her four grandsons. She also loved being able to see and love on her 11 great-grandchildren. She made the best teacakes and special treats for them. She and Daddy loved spending their summers working at Fun Valley Campground in Colorado. They made many long-lasting friendships while there. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She was always there for her family when we needed her. She was our rock and foundation. Love you, Mom and Maw Maw

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bryan Darwin Robinson; brothers, Vernon and Herbert Kimbrell; and sisters, Jewel Spence, Jeanette Kennedy and Elsie Nell Rodgers.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carolyn Hooks and husband James of Rusk; son, Bryan Robinson and wife Kathy of Rusk; sister, Rita Wiggins of Rusk; and sisters-in-law, Norma Robinson of Rusk and Ann Kimbrell of Jacksonville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Steven and Melanie Hooks of Manor, Jay Hooks of Rusk, Clay Robinson and wife Melissa of Rusk, and Justin Robinson and wife Rachel of Jacksonville; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Helm, Johnny Graham, Colby May, Arnold Dosser, Darvin Collins, and Harold Simpson. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Patterson and Jerry Akin.
