Lady Panthers suffer first district defeat

Bullard’s Lady Panthers traveled to Grace Tuesday, Oct. 1, defeating the non-district opponent, 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-20).

Sara McKeethan posted 18 kills and 22 digs during the match. Keili Richmond recorded seven kills and 15 digs. Haley Day added five kills and 12 blocks while Jolee Dixon posted three kills and seven blocks.

Kylie McKeethan recorded 22 assists and 10 digs. Libby Eitel had 15 assists and nine digs.

The junior varsity team beat Grace in a tie-breaker (18-25, 25-23, 15-10).

The freshman team was also victorious, taking a win over Grace, 25-10 and 25-18.

On Friday, Oct. 4, Kilgore’s Lady Bulldogs served the Lady Panthers their first district loss of the season, winning three games to one (20-25, 18-25, 25-15, 22-25).

Sara McKeethan recorded 12 kills and 19 digs. Richmond added nine kills and seven digs. Sarah Lewiniski posted four kills and five blocks.

Kylie McKeethan had 15 assists and eight digs. Eitel recorded 13 assists. Korleigh DuBose added 10 digs.

Following last week’s games, the Lady Panthers varsity carried a 5-1 district record, 30-6 overall.

Bullard was slated to visit Henderson Tuesday, Oct. 8, and will play at Gilmer beginning at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11.
