Shelley Ann Martin Cote

Shelley Ann Martin Cote, 61, of Palestine and formerly of Rusk, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born March 7, 1958, in San Pedro, Calif.

She loved being a nurse and caring for others is what she was meant to do.

The most important things in her life were her kids, grandkids, and her dogs.

She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Jennie Martin; son, James Howard Justice; and brother, Eddie Salz.

Shelley is survived by her husband, Chris Cote; daughters, Tashia Pitts and husband Westley, Julie White and husband Roy Jr., and Amanda Justice; sister, Mary McBride; grandchildren, Andrea, J.D., Dakota, Katrina, Kenneth, Alyssa, James Jr., and Hudson; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Becky Sue Ballew.

Services were held Monday, Sept. 2, at Herrington-Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel in Palestine. Chaplain Don Stanaland officiated.
