Melvin Ray Wright

Melvin Ray Wright, 69, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, in Rusk. He was born in Lubbock on Aug. 15, 1949, to Robert and Mary Wright.

He leaves his children, Shane and wife Mary Wright of Jacksonville, Christine and husband Paul Adams of Tyler and Cobey and wife Crystal Loftin of Rusk; sisters, Marie Martin and Wanda and husband Ronny Akins; brother, Bob Wright; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Scotty Ray Wright; brother, Milton Wright; and his parents.

Melvin was a hard-working, God-loving man that never met a stranger. He had many hobbies. He was a true cowboy that loved working with leather and guns, but most of all he was a God-loving and fearing man that always wanted to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, at New Life Church, 204 Bellaire St., Jacksonville. A private burial will follow at a later date.
