Graveside services for Lucille Goodman Bell, 96, of Mabank and formerly of Alto and Rusk will be Saturday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. at the Old Palestine Cemetery in Alto with Brother Buster Woodell officiating. There will be a visitation Friday, Aug. 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the O.T. Allen Funeral Home in Alto. Lucille passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6, in Mabank. She was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Cherokee County to Sanford Edwards and Lula Evans Edwards. Lucille lived most of her life in Cherokee County and was a homemaker. She had attended church at the Assembly of God and loved quilting and fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Simmons Goodman; children, Billy Wayne Goodman, Donia Inez Martin, Jimmy Carroll Goodman, Patricia Ann Bolton, Linda Kay Dake, Richard Lynn Goodman and Claude “Junior” Goodman. She is survived by son, James Robert Goodman and wife Bessie of Rusk; daughter, Lois Marie Newby of Mabank; sister, Clara Fay Singletary of Granbury; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
