Julie (Marcisak) George

Julie (Marcisak) George, a long-time resident of Chandler and Rusk, died peacefully Monday, July 22, at Hospice of East Texas at the age of 86.

Julie was born Aug. 6, 1932, in New York, N.Y., to the late John and Theresa Marcisak. She loved camping and fishing with her late husband, Grady Maxwell George. She also enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, reading, and cooking. She had a great passion for animals and the various pets she had over her lifetime. Julie never met a stray dog or cat that wasn’t welcome at her house! Julie was an amazing woman and mother who was loved by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. Her kindness and loving heart will be greatly missed but remembered often and fondly by her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; three sisters; and her husband, Grady Maxwell George.

She is survived by her three children, Carey George and wife DeAnn of Corpus Christi, Theresa Carter and husband Jack of Chandler, and John George and wife Lori of Tucson, Ariz. She also left behind eight grandchildren, Nikki Carter and wife Shelby of Tyler, Megan Spradlin and husband Mitchell of Tyler, Cody Carter and wife Erica of Chandler, Corey George of Corpus Christi, Tyler Burnett and husband Scott of Flour Bluff, Cameron George of Corpus Christi and Julianna and Jacqueline George of Tucson. Also precious to her were her four great grandchildren, Myla and Maggie Spradlin of Tyler, Annabella Burnett of Flour Bluff and Maiya George of Corpus Christi.

A graveside service for family will be held at Pierce’s Chapel cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
