Funeral services for Carlean Collins Rogers, 97, of Burleson and formerly of Alto, will be 2 p.m., Saturday, July 20, at the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home in Alto. Burial will follow at the Old Palestine Cemetery.

Mrs. Rogers Passed away Saturday, July 13, in Ft. Worth. She was born in Alto on May 22, 1922, to Edd Lee Collins and Annie Louise Johnson Collins.

Carlean had lived in the Ft. Worth area for many years and had also lived in Alto for many years and was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church in Alto.

Carlean, who was fondly known as “Aunt Shorty” to her relatives, was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and painting. She married Carl Rogers -- her husband of 59 years -- in the Methodist parsonage in Alto on June 29, 1940.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; sisters, Mallie Crosby and Nancy Crosby; and brothers, Orval Collins and Ray Collins.

Carlean is survived by daughters, Dixie Rogers of Burleson and Vickie Gordon (H.C.) of Crowley; brother, Eddie Jr. Collins (Joyce) of Nederland; grandchildren, Ron Phillips (Misty), Carl W. Phillips (Wendy), Kevin Gordon and Casey Gordon (Krista); as well as 12 great grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing, beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday until service time.
