James Royce Pyle

On Thursday, July 11, 2019, James Royce Pyle, loving husband and father of two children went to be with the Lord at the age of 86. Royce was born Nov. 7, 1932, to Doyle And Fanny Pyle in Weches. He worked at the Southern Pacific Railroad in Houston for 43 years. On May 22, 1952, he married Edna Lucile Mynard and they raised one daughter, Debra and one son, Kenny. Royce had a passion for gardening and refurbishing furniture and enjoyed his morning cup of coffee and watching the martins. He was known for his kind heart and sweet spirit. Royce was preceded in death by his father, Doyle and his mother, Fanny; his brothers; Mickey, Bill and Gordon; sister, Robbie; and his son, Kenny. He is survived by his wife Edna; his daughter, Debra and son-in-law Rodney; grandchildren, Wesley and Lindsey; and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, July 14, 2019, at the Weches Baptist Church, 19583 State Hwy 21 E., Grapeland (Weches Community).

The Revs. David Hobson and Gary Luker will officiate. Graveside service will follow at the Weches Cemetery. There will be a viewing and visitation starting at noon at the church on Sunday. Memorials would be appreciated, and can be made to the Weches Baptist Church Piano Fund c/o Clayton Baker 15657 FM 227 E. Grapeland, TX 75844. Pallbearers will be Jim Pyle, Bob Mayton, Rodney Palla, Wesley Palla, Justin Lovell and Norman Bobbitt. O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home will direct services.
