Area summer athletic camps continue
Local school districts continue to offer a variety of summer athletic camps.
A Panthers basketball camp will be hosted Monday-Thursday, June 24-27.
Session one will be held 9-11 a.m. for incoming third through sixth graders and session two will run 12:30-2:30 p.m. for incoming seventh through ninth graders.
The cost is $50 per camper, $90 for two, and a maximum of $125 per family.
A $15 fee will be assessed if the form is not received by June 14.
Attendees are asked to wear shorts and basketball shoes and bring something to drink.
A baseball camp for those entering grades three through nine will be conducted 9-11:30 a.m. Monday-Wednesday, July 1-3.
The cost is $60 per camper.
Walk-ups are welcome.
Participants are asked to bring water, glove, bat and helmet.
Please note the Panthers’ softball camp scheduled for Monday-Wednesday, June 17-19, has been cancelled.
A ninth grade football camp will be held 7:30-9 a.m. Tuesday-Thursday, July 30-Aug. 1. This camp is free to all incoming freshmen.

Two basketball camps are being offered to incoming second through ninth grade students.
The first is a skills camp set for 8-11 a.m. Monday-Wednesday, July 1-3.
The second, a shooting camp, will be offered Friday-Saturday, July 5-6.
The cost is $30 for one camp or $50 for both.
A family discount of $5 is being offered to those in the same household.
Forms for these camps can be found on the Jacksonville High School Facebook page or may be picked up from and will need to be turned in at the JHS field house.
Students entering second through ninth grades can still attend a tennis camp being conducted Monday-Thursday, July 22-25.
The cost is $35 per camper unless attendee has already participated in the first camp.
Attendees are asked to bring a tennis racket, towel and water or sports drink.
Tennis rackets will be provided, if needed.
Tennis camp is being offered 9-11 a.m. Monday-Wednesday, June 17-19, for incoming third through eighth graders.
The camp will be conducted by Coaches Adam Thomas and David Minnix.
The cost is $30 per camper and checks should be made payable to Adam Thomas.
Volleyball camp is set for 10 a.m.-12 p.m. for students in fifth through eighth grade and 12-3 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, July 29-31, for incoming ninth through 12th graders.
The cost is $50 per camper. Checks are to be made payable to Arden Johnson for students in fifth through eighth grades and to Amanda McMeans for high school students.
