Marilyn Joy Dudley

On Monday, May 20, 2019, Marilyn Joy Dudley, was reunited with her beloved husband, Gene.

She was born Dec. 15, 1942, in Jacksonville to Johnny “Ray” and Leona (Compton) Stubbs.

After 21 years, Marilyn retired from Farmers L.P. Gas. She was a member of Sunset Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jackie “Gene” Dudley; and daughter, Sheila Rae Stricklen.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Stacey Lynn Dudley and Nick Dudley and wife Tracy, all of Jacksonville; and sister, Loretta Sorensen of Jacksonville. She will be remembered by her grandchildren, Nicole Dudley, Jordan Dudley, Joy Stricklen, Preston Carroll, Alec Blankenship, Jordan Carroll and great-grandchildren, Allison, Daniel and Kinsley. She is also survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, and friends are cordially invited to visit with the Dudley family from 6-8 p.m., at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Brother Michael Mathis will officiate. Mrs. Dudley will be laid to rest next to her husband at Union Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Pallbearers will be Reggie Bridges, Jimmy Neal Dyess, Ray Loviette, Clayton Greco, Daniel Walston and Nick Dudley.
