Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Wesley King

Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Wesley King, 72, of Rusk, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Centennial Hospital in Frisco, Texas.
Ronnie was born Feb. 24, 1947, in Jacksonville. He was the eldest son of Albert Wesley and Lavern Hassell King. He was a graduate of Alvin High School and the University of Houston. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, serving proudly in the 287th MP Company at Checkpoint Charlie on the Berlin Wall from 1968-1971. Ronald was a Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper in Motor Vehicle Inspection and Highway Patrol serving the public for over 30 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Anita (Evans) King; son, Garret King of Rusk; daughter and son-in-law, Tamara (King) Thompson and Stephen Thompson of Frisco; and three grandchildren, Regan, Evan, and Lily Thompson. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce King of Alvin.

Ronald was happiest at his farm in East Texas, sitting on the porch with his bride of 52 years, listening to his son play music as they watched the evening sun. A man who appreciated the simple things in life, Ron enjoyed music, spending time with grandkids, and any time spent outdoors at his home in East Texas.
