Community rallies together to support Alto

The River, a church located at 595 S. Marcos in Alto, has been collecting donations and providing food to the community since the tornadoes tore through the town Saturday, April 13, and is continuing to provide hot meals three times a day at 8 a.m., 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Many restaurants and individuals have been and continue to provide food to help feed the residents, first responders and volunteers.

Falvey United Methodist Church in Wells will provide lunch Thursday, April 18. The St. Cyprians Episcopal Church and DP Solutions, both located in Lufkin, will provide barbecue Friday, April 19. New Summerfield Cowboy Church will provide breakfast and lunch Saturday, April 20. Batsill Tipton will provide barbecue for lunch Sunday, April 21.

Chili’s of Jacksonville and Nacogdoches,

Whataburger,

Rancho Viejo-Rusk,

Pizza Hut-Rusk and Jacksonville,

Miss Molly’s Diner-Alto,

Ronda Darby/Darby’s Kitchen,

Uncle Doug’s-Douglass,

Shelby Wager/Which Wich-Tyler and Lufkin

As well as many unnamed individuals.
