Rusk places in Dragon Relays

The Rusk Eagles and Lady Eagles each placed fifth out of eight schools competing in the Dragon Relays at Nacogdoches High School, Thursday, March 28.

In boys competition, Ladadrian Polk seized the top spot in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.25.

Isiah Ward placed fifth with a time of 52.99.

Polk captured first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:05.59.

Zane Cunningham placed seventh in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:22.46.

In the 100-meter relay, the team of Landon Weaver, Trey Devereaux, Monterian Hollins and Andrew Gates placed fifth with time of 44.34.

The team of Devereaux, Sean Rogers, Weaver and Gates placed sixth in the 200-meter relay. Their time was 1:34.00.

Jaheim Upshaw, Rogers, Polk and Kyle Henry took finished fifth (3:47.00) in the 400-meter relay.

In the long jump finals, Jermaine Lewis took second with a distance of 47-6.

Garrett Blalock captured first in the discus with a distance of 146-6.5. Dredon Session placed fifth with a distance of 123-11.

In girls competition, Jordyn Babyak placed third in the 3200-meter run with a time of 14:37.16. Teammate Alyssa Hardy finished fourth with a time of 14:49.51. Babyak placed sixth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:29.00.

The team of Zoe Fields, Kenyada Kincade, Victoria Ivy and Grace Young placed seventh in the 100-meter relay with a time of 53.69.

Merle Besson captured first in the discus with a distance of 108-9. Shaye Brown finished third with a distance of 99-8.5. Besson placed sixth in the shot put with a distance of 31-11.

Kincade tied for second with a height of 4-8 in the high jump.
