Robert “Zeke” Barron

Funeral service for Robert “Zeke” Barron, 71, of Oakwood and formerly of Henderson and Alto will be held Thursday, February 21st, 2018 at 2 pm at the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home in Alto, Texas with Bro. Jim Grable officiating. Burial will follow in the Arnold Cemetery. Mr. Barron passed away Saturday, February 16th in Oakwood. He was born June 6th, 1947 in Alto, Texas to Travis and Ruth Byers Barron. Zeke was born and raised in Alto and later lived in Henderson for 25 years. He has lived in Oakwood for the last 9 years and was a member of the North Creek Baptist Church. Zeke loved his family and friends and loved fishing on the river. He was retired from the Rusk County Electric Co-Op after 25 years of service. Zeke was preceded in death by his son Dale Barron, brothers Roy, Bruce and Ralph Cumby as well as his parents. He is survived by wife Doris Barron of Oakwood, daughter Robin Branham (Darrel) of Lufkin, son Jerry Barron (Jenny) of Tyler, brother James “Bo” Barron of Houston, grandchildren Tommy Branham, Derek Branham, Brianna Barron, Caitlyn Barron and Matthew Barron as well as 6 great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Donald Wolfe, Ruben James Wolfe, Ricky Burkhalter, Terry Burkhalter, Travis Burkhalter, Daniel Burch and Andrew Smith.
