Area elementary classes marked the 100th day of school with special events and activities.

Rusk Elementary celebrated the day in style, hosting a 100th Day Fashion Show. Teachers modeled 100th day outfits designed by their students.

The second- and third-grade classes earned a blacklight social lunch for displaying the most enthusiasm during the fashion show.

Students with 100 days of perfect attendance were recognized and include Andrea Torres, Jahavon Hatton, Ashlynn Joseph and Madison Lopez.

The kindergarten class at Wells celebrated the 100th day of school by placing 100 stickers on Principal Bryan Caughlin. They also marched in a 100th day parade sporting 100th day hats and glasses.

The class spent time counting 100 of a variety of objects by stacking cups, creating necklaces with fruit loops as well as other activities.

Teacher Michelle Williamson reported how her students answered when asked what item each would want if they could have 100 of them.

Some students wanted food items such as Addyson who wanted 100 chips. Cadence wanted 100 cookies while Tayvion preferred 100 pieces of cereal.

Some students said they wanted some sort of toy. Casyn would like 100 dinosaur toys, while Jaymie wanted 100 LOL dolls and Madison, 100 Barbies.

Williamson reported Kaylee wanted 100 cats though it wasn’t specified if these were to be stuffed animals or live cats. Sadie said she would like 100 bows.

Jacksonville schools will celebrate the 100th day Friday, Feb. 8.
