Anita Faye Morris

A funeral service for Anita Faye Morris, age 63, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 o’clock in the morning Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Elder Ella Whitaker will officiate. Mrs. Morris will be laid to rest at Antioch Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Anita passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at her home in Jacksonville.

She was born June 17, 1955 in Jacksonville to Charles and Myrtle Yancey.

Mrs. Morris graduated in the top ten of her class at Jacksonville High School and was a member of The National Honor Society. Anita attended Lon Morris college and Sam Houston State University. She was a teacher at Windom ISD, taught ESL and helped many students acquire their G.E.D.

She was preceded in death by her father Charles Yancey.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Melvin Morris; mother, Myrtle Marie Yancey; daughters, Shelia Leavins of San Antonio, Janna Bond of Jacksonville; sisters, Susan Gilmore and husband Mark, Vickie Ray and husband Jeff all of Jacksonville; and grandson, Trey Altstatt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Richard Elmer, Lance Heitz, Mike Vargas, Ted Britton, Richard Massongill and Michael Goff.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Trey Altstatt, Travis Ross Yancey and Dr. Jim Harkins.

Visitation will begin on Friday, January 18, 2019 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Anita’s family from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
