Rusk Rural WSC lifts boil water notice

January 03, 2019

As of Thursday, Jan. 3, the boil water notice issued to Rusk Rural Water Supply Co. customers on FM 1248 and surrounding areas has been rescinded. Testing results indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to consumption, according to officials with the water supply corporation and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

On Dec. 29, the TCEQ required the WSC to issue the boil water notice to inform customers of potential contamination or an interruption in service.

"Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling, as of Jan. 3," according to a release provided by the WSC on Thursday.
