Alvon Andrew Hammons Jr.

Graveside services for Alvon Andrew Hammons Jr., 69, will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Hendrick Cemetery near Rusk, with the Rev. Don Copeland and Trent Stuart officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Mr. Hammons died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, in Tyler. He was born Sept. 3, 1949, in Crockett, to Alvon Andrew Hammons Sr. and Carrie Alice Collins Hammons.

Mr. Hammons was a welder and a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a son, a daughter and wife, Lawanna Hammons. Mr. Hammons is survived by children, Patricia Brotherton of Lufkin, Joe Hammons (Donna) of Rusk and Ashla Soignet (Roger) of Pollock; brother, James Hammons Sr. of Rusk; sister, Alice Fay Wield of San Antonio; grandchildren Stephen, Jeffry, Cody, A.J., Harley, Amber, Trinity, Amber, Brandon, David, Miranda, J.J., Andria, Chris, Casey, Kaylee, Bradley, Cody, and William; as well as several nieces and nephews.
