Jo Ann Herring

Graveside services for Jo Ann Herring, 73, of Rusk will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at Myrtle Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Goodman officiating.

Ms. Herring passed away suddenly Friday, Dec. 14, 2018. She was born Oct. 17, 1945, in Crockett, to the late L.Z. Herring and Laverne Herring Bobbitt. After high school, she went to nursing school in Jacksonville and worked as an LVN for many years. If anyone knew her, she loved to go out to eat. She enjoyed travelling and being at the ocean. She had regular visits with her beloved cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents, step-father, Myron Bobbitt, and brother, Wayne Herring.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Stacey and John Ellis of Rusk, Teresa and Jeffrey Baer of Logansport, Ind.; grandchildren, Meghan King of Rusk, Heather Sartain of Rusk, Curtis Baer of Logansport, Cody Baer of Logansport and Trevor Baer of Logansport; eight great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Shalah and Rickey Brown of New Summerfield; and sister-in-law, Nona Herring of Grapeland.
