Charles David ‘Buddy’ Mitchell

Graveside services for Charles David Mitchell, 76, of Rusk will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, at the Oakland Cemetery with Robby Arrington officiating. Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at the cemetery from 1:30- 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles Mitchell was born Jan. 27, 1942, in Dallas, to Charles Cleo and Johnnie Hopkins Mitchell. He had worked as a security guard and was a member of the Church of Christ. He went to be with his Savior on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, while residing at a Rusk nursing home.
Charles was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, John and Winnie Hopkins.

Charles is survived by his wife, Joyce Mitchell of Rusk; his mother, Johnnie Mitchell of Rusk; his children, Camille and Keith Cannon of New Mexico, Donna Mitchell of Jacksonville, Julie and Jamie Campbell of Nacogdoches, Lisa and Mark Hall of Rusk, Megan and Jessie Hernandez of Fulshear, Terry and Lynn Wolverton of Dallas, Brenda Kay Frosch of Ft. Worth, Rebecca Vinson of Rockport and Janett and Morgan Morris of Rockwall; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jo and Gary Langston of Rusk; 23 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two nieces; one great-niece; and two great nephews.
