Dinner and bingo offered Thursday

Grab dinner and a dauber during the Cherokee County Relay for Life’s Harvest of Hope Dinner & Relay Bingo event.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Rusk Civic Center, 555 Euclid St., in Rusk. Dinner starts serving at 5:30 p.m. and is free for cancer survivors; $10 for anyone else. Bingo games start at 6:30 p.m. The buy-in to play is $25 and includes 10 bingo playing cards. Groups of up to eight people can reserve a table for bingo for $180. Participants will play for various prizes such as purses, toolboxes, gift cards and more. Proceeds of the event benefit the Cherokee County Relay for Life event. This year’s Relay for Life event will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019, at Jacksonville Middle School, 1541 E. Pine St., Jacksonville.

Volunteers give of their time and effort because they believe it’s time to take action against cancer. Join us at these events to bring communities together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society make a global impact on cancer.”

Relay teams can register early by visiting secure.acsevents.org. A Relay Team Captain meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at the Cherokee County Electric Cooperative office, U.S. Highway 69 N.
