The Cherokeean Herald is looking for a few good cooks.

The Cherokeean Herald is cooking up a fun, new contest for our readers and subscribers. With the holiday season fast approaching, many are on the lookout for that new family favorite dish. That is where we need your help. We want you to send us your favorite go-to dish, and by doing so, there will be a sweet treat in it for the winner.

Entering your favorite holiday, wild game or everyday recipes will earn a chance to win two tickets to the Texas Renaissance Festival’s Celtic Christmas event, on Nov. 24-25.

To enter the recipe contest, check out the paper’s Facebook page for the ‘Recipes go here’ post and share your recipes there; email recipes to chreporter@mediactr.com; or mail recipes to PO Box 348, Rusk, TX 75785, through Friday, Nov. 16. All recipes submitted will be posted to the Facebook thread.

The person who submits the recipe that garners the most likes by Nov. 16 will win the Ren Fest tickets.

The winning recipe will also be featured in the Wednesday, Nov. 21 issue of the Cherokeean Herald, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
