The Rusk Youth Sports Association (RYSA) freshman football team is headed to playoffs with a 5-3 regular season record.

The team, primarily made up of six to eight year olds, will take on the Dogwood Panthers from Palestine this Saturday.

So far this season, the Eagles have played teams from Tyler, Jacksonville, Whitehouse and Troup.

“Our team may be small in size, but they have a big heart,” said head coach Bruce Bradley.

“They have really worked hard as a team and have done really well. The coaches are very proud of all our players and we look forward to more games with them.”
