Gary Starkey

Memorial services for Gary Nolan Starkey, 76, of Gallatin, will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Rusk under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Dement officiating.

Mr. Starkey passed away August 20, 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born September 12, 1941 to the late Odell and Elveda Starkey in Jacksonville, Texas.

Mr. Starkey was a big fan of baseball, especially the Texas Rangers. He enjoyed watching all sports, and played golf. He also hunted deer through the years. He was an outdoorsman at heart and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Bobby Starkey, and his son-in-law, Mark Hudnall.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Rae Starkey of Rusk, daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Daniel New of Gallatin, daughter, Nancy Hudnall of Rusk, son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Lana Starkey of Reklaw, grandchildren, Nikki Langston of Maydelle, Brandon Hudnall of Rusk, Katy McDonald of Galveston, Dan New of Reklaw, Duston Hudnall of Rusk, Jill Blair of Rusk, Andrew Montgomery of Jacksonville, Dylan Starkey of San Marcos, Delaney Starkey of San Marcos and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 until service time.
