Keeping it in the family: Sisters head to state little league softball tournament

Sisters Trinity Crosby and Rebecca Hood play on RBSA little league softball teams that are headed to state playoffs beginning the week of July 9.

Crosby is a part of the Girls 15U division team Rusk Velocity. Velocity placed second overall in league tournaments with a season record of eight wins and four losses.
Crosby not only plays softball, but is also very active in cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, track, Student Council and FFA.

Hood plays on Rusk Sassy Sluggers, a Girls 6U T-ball division team. The Sassy Sluggers tied their regular season with the Rusk Rumble Ponies, but earned their state tournament spot by defeating the Ponies during a June 11 tie breaker game.

Hood takes dance lessons and loves unicorns, mermaids, playing dress up and building dirt castles in the outfield.

The state playoff games will begin in Rusk the week of July 9 with a total of 16 teams and approximately 300 players and coaches participating in the event.
