Notes from the Fox Den

by Josie Fox

Hello from the Fox Den!

Although we had a wonderful time on our cruise, it is great to be back home. I sure did miss my fur babies Adalee and Kingsley while I was away.

If you have never cruised before, I would highly recommend it. We sailed with Carnival out of Galveston and I cannot speak highly enough of the crew members and staff that paid attention to all of the small details that ensured we had a relaxing and fun filled vacation.

Thanks to a tropical storm that was swirling around Florida, we had a few days where winds were high, the seas were rough and it rained, but none of that dampened our spirit of adventure.

Mr. Fox and I actually won a dance off competition, beating out another couple from Texas, with our stellar dance moves the last night of the cruise, with each of us bringing home a Carnival Breeze trophy. As far as I know (and hope) video evidence of the dance off does not exist.

One of the most memorable experiences during the cruise was our excursion in the Cayman Islands which included two stops, Stingray City and Starfish Point.

Stingray City is a series of shallow sandbars found in the North Sound of Grand Cayman and it allows tourists the opportunity to pet, feed and interact with stingrays. Both Mr. Fox and I kissed one, ensuring we each have 7 years of good luck. Words simply cannot describe how beautiful the water was or the level of awesomeness that comes with petting a stingray.

From there it was a 15 minute boat ride to Starfish Point, a natural habitat for cushion sea starfish. The one pictured above was the largest one we found while combing the shallow waters.

We returned home Sunday well rested, reconnected and with a few more stories to tell. Now its time to start planning our next adventure! Until next week, I wish you all good health and happiness.
