Jacksonville Rotary hosts Manager of US Fish and Wildlife Services

At the Jacksonville Rotary Club meeting on Oct. 4, rotarian, Michael Banks (left) hosted Leo Gustafson, Manager of the US Fish and Wildlife Service’s Neches River National Wildlife Refuge. The Neches River NWR was established in 2006 and contains approximatey 6,500 acres of hardwood bottomlands, mostly in Cherokee County. The refuge is focused on maintaining and protecting critical wildlife habitat along the Neches River for migratory birds and other bottomland wildlife and plant species.
