On the road: U.S. Highway 69 project officially breaks ground

Several TxDOT and Cherokee County dignitaries move the first dirt on the U.S. Highway 69 widening project through Wells during a ceremony Monday morning. The project has been approximately 30 years in the making and will widen the existing roadway to a four-lane divided curb and gutter section.
